Malcolm MacLachlan, who is Professor of Global Health at the Centre for Global Health & School of Psychology, Trinity College Dublin: has been awarded the American Psychological Association's International Humanitarian Award for 2014 (see http://www.apa.org/international/pi/2013/12/award-recipients.aspx).
According to the APA the "award recognizes extraordinary humanitarian service and activism by a psychologist or a team of psychologists, ... with underserved populations".
Mac commented that "the award reflects the efforts of many friends and collaborators, over many years, in many countries; and I am delighted that our work has been recognised in this way by the American Psychological Association".
